Mom and media mogul Sibrena Stowe de Fernandez was born in Philadelphia, Pa to loving parents, Allen & Betty Dolores.
She began a career in journalism while attending North Penn Senior High School in suburban Philadelphia and soon afterwards, interned in the news department at popular urban station, Power 99 FM while enrolled at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pa.
Shortly there after, she volunteered for an incumbent political candidate, Congressman Chaka Fattah and was the assistant press secretary.
Once Congressman Fattah was successfully elected into office, Stowe moved on to print media at Montgomery Publishing Company suburban Philadelphia’s largest newspaper company and immediately knew this was her calling. “I knew I’d be in news since elementary school. We had career day and I told my teacher I wanted to be a reporter so the school paired me with a television sports caster named Steve Baskerville and I never steered away from my goal of being a celebrity and political reporter.”
Eventually, Sibrena decided to take her career a step further and moved to her second home town, New York City and opened the media firm, Stowe Communications, Inc. She changed the name to LaChic Media and encompassed the best of her talents which include media buys, publicity, celebrity news writer & columnist and artist management. Some of her clients included; Cash Money, Run/DMC, Beyonce, Solange, The Game and many more.
Recently, Sibrena inked a deal with VH1′s “Mob Wives” star, Karen Gravano, rapper and former “Flip Mode Squad” artist, Lord Have Mercy and also represents radio and television personality, Steph Lova formerly of Hot 97′s Ladies Night and currently on DTF’s station with her very own show. Fernandez was instrumental in the placement of VH1′s “Gossip Game” reality show, as she placed Viv Billings known as @daNYCGossipGirl on the television deal with the network as well. Still keeping her pen in motion, Stowe de Fernandez was also a reporter with the Times News, a daily newspaper based in Pennsylvania, as a correspondent. She previously covered political news for The Republican Herald and it’s sister paper, The Standard Speaker, and also for top 40 radio station, T102 FM. She’s currently publishing a coffee table style book promoting breast cancer awareness. The book is entitled, “A Day In The Life of a Pop Culture Diva.” Fernandez will donate proceeds of the book sales to a promenate cancer foundation later in 2013 in conjunction with famed photographer, Betania Sikora- publisher of Jacq magazine, a luxury lifestyle publication.
No stranger to high profile personalities, Sibrena was offered a position by Publisher, Vinnie Tedesco as contributing editor of Image NJ magazine, a luxury lifestyle publication. Her job entailed pitching, writing and editing A-list celebrity feature and cover stories and did so passionately. Some interviews conducted by Sibrena include, Nick Cannon, Jennifer Lopez and others. Her trademark celebrity column, “Chic Society” is a highly favored read, as noted by subscribers & fans of Image NJ magazine.
Sibrena continues to expand her journalism talents by pursuing human interest stories, entertainment and political affairs articles, while providing the public with fair and accurate news! Sibrena currently lives in her native states of Pennsylvania and New York City and maintain a close bond with close friends and family, especially with her only child Natasha.
